Valorant is a team-based tactical shooter where players compete in intense 5v5 matches. Set in a near-future world, each player assumes the role of an Agent, possessing unique abilities that can turn the tide of battle. With a focus on precise gunplay and strategic teamwork, players must coordinate with their teammates to outmaneuver and outgun the opposition across a variety of maps. Valorant emphasizes tactical decision-making, requiring players to carefully manage resources and utilize their Agent's abilities to secure victory. With its blend of fast-paced action and strategic depth, Valorant offers a competitive gaming experience that rewards skill, coordination, and adaptability.

Before I explain why I gave this game a 1/10 I just need to say this game has the cleanest art I've ever seen, it looks abolsutely amazing and the art style is unique and looks great. That's about all the positives I can think of with Valorant so onto the actual review.

Valorant gameplay compared to other hero fps games is so slow paced and boring. You can sprint and jumping is terrible, if you want to run faster you have to pull out your knife and when you hold your gun you can only walk to a snail pace. For some reason some of the guns don't have the ability to aim down sights making hiting targets exremely difficult. If your shooting your gun you can't be moving at all or your accuracy decreases so badly it's like your shooting a machine gun. When you find an enemy you both stand still and shoot at each other until someone gets hit twice and dies. You die so easily in this game to literally any gun, the only difference is the fire rate.

Every hero has different abilities to make them unique, unfortunately these are almsot entirely useless unless you're a god at the game. During my 40+ hours in Valorant I didn't die to an ability a single time, maybe if it was actually difficult to kill your enemies they would be better but when everyone is a 1-2 shot kill it's honestly harder to kill with a grenade than a pistol. Some heros have cool sounding abilities like teleporting and spawning a clone but they have such a long cooldown you can barely have any fun using them to fake out the other team.

The game has a decent amount of gamemodes but the main one you'll see people playing is plant/defuse the bomb mode. Annoyingly after you die during a round that's it, there's no revives except for abilities so you get one tapped and then have to watch other people play for 5 minutes before getting back in. The maps are all very linear without any destructible items, hidden tunnels or verticality meaning you're constantly going to be at eye level with your oponents making every fight the same boring encounter.

The last thing I feel I need to talk about is how ridiculously overpriced the in app purchases are in this game. You could buy a real gun for less than a Valorant gun skin costs. Each of the skins is exclusive to one weapon type so you can't just buy one and get all your guns looking fresh. As you can see in the images above one gun skin bundle is 5,325 V-Bucks which you'll need to buy with real money for NZ$ 80. For some reason the Valorant community keeps buying these stupidly expensive skins which keeps the Valorant developers earning crazy money and updating the store with more overpriced items. You could buy an apartment in Hong Kong for less than the average Valorant player spends monthly on gun skins.

Overall, this game absolutely sucks and I could never recommend anyone ever play this. There are so many better hero shooters out there with reasonable in app purchase prices if your looking for this style of game.
